Are you looking for a safe space to connect with fellow service members and veterans? Our Member Chats offer real-time interaction in a text-only format - simple texting and typing. We host these chats on Slack, ensuring a private and supportive environment where members can share experiences, ask questions, and uplift one another. To join, access the red-cross-military-2-veteran-network channel on Slack from your computer or through the Slack mobile app. This event is open to M2VN online community members only.

Please note: Registration ends at 7 am Central time on the day of the chat to allow M2VN program managers time to add members to our channel.

How do I join the chat?

Complete the registration information. An invitation and instructions to join our channel will be emailed to you on the day of the event, no later than 1 hour prior to start time. Please see the "How to Use Slack" tab for detailed instructions.

What can I expect?

You can join the chat on a computer or mobile device. You will participate by typing your questions and responses and reading what other participants share. You are also welcome to read only. Whatever makes you comfortable. 

How do I know if this chat is for me?

If you are a service member or veteran with an interest to connect with others you are welcome to join us. 

What if I can't attend?

Please register anyway! All registrants will receive a follow-up email with information and resources shared during the chat. You are also welcome to join even if you can't attend the whole session. The chat transcript is available to read for 24 hours. 

How to join Caregiver Chats on Slack

  1. Download the Slack app on a computer or mobile device https://slack.com/
  2. Watch for an email invitation on the day of the chat to join M2VN's Slack channel or log in if you have already set up your Slack account.
  3. Follow the instructions in the email invitation to join Slack (you may need to check your spam or junk folder for the Slack invitation).
  4. Log in to Slack and select red-cross-military-2-veteran-network channel on the top left side of the screen (M2VN staff will add you to this channel). If you do not have the channel available when the chat begins, please email programs.m2vn@redcross.org.

If you have participated in M2VN's Member Chats previously, you will have continued access to our channel.
